For those who haven't read The Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan was the author of a fantasy epic that reached the twelve book mark (of a predicted 13 books) when the author passed away due to health complications. Brandon Sanderson is completing the series and doing, I believe, a good job of taking up the torch.
Apparently, one of the more common questions that George R. R. Martin receives is "What happens to A Song of Ice and Fire when you die?" I find that to be a pretty callous question, and despite me getting a little dark with the humour in this joke, I do hope we can appreciate the man and his achievements in way that prioritizes our concerns for his health and creative well-being over our concern that we won't get to finish reading/watching Game of Thrones.
Anyway, all the best to George his health, and his work.
PS: I tried introducing graphics to this comic, but ended up finding that I liked how straightforwardly the text alone was able to present the joke.
